Local processing
Images, filenames, metadata, GPS data, and cleaned outputs are not uploaded or sent to an API. Files live in memory for the current page session. Clear All releases local object URLs and state.
Metadata and AI signatures
Images may contain location, device, camera, lens, capture date, software, editing, and generator information. AI source results are based only on recognizable metadata text. Absence of a signature does not prove human authorship.
Content Credentials
PrivImage detects supported C2PA/JUMBF container structures and can remove identified credential chunks. It does not cryptographically validate a claim, identify its signer, or defeat provenance systems. Removing a manifest is not the same as invalidating its cryptography.
Social platforms
Removing image metadata does not guarantee that a social platform will stop labeling, detecting, or classifying an image as AI-generated.
Security and limitations
File signatures, MIME types, extensions, sizes, and container boundaries are validated. Corrupted or unsupported structures are rejected. Browser performance depends on your device. The local app shell can work offline after a successful visit, but downloads remain your responsibility.
